The ideal scenario is to install the service at the Router. (modem, wireless ...)      

  

This will allow you to configure all your devices, using that connection, at the same time.

If this is not a option then you need to install the service at the Device level (the Computer , PDA ...)

Configuring  at the Device level will have the same effect as configuring at the router level.
